Within the 14th Floor, The Stock Room is a supply closet. It stores prints, artist books, jewelry, and objects taken from past and ongoing projects. Here, administrative aesthetics meet studio practice, jeweler’s workbench, artist’s drawing table, and printer’s flat file. Some pieces are affordable. Some are “remainders”—repurposed byproducts, prototypes, or iterative offshoots made available to the public while helping to recuperate production costs. Others exist simply to keep the hands busy.

Together, these things chart the unseen labor of a practice that values process as much as polish.

The Stock Room is configured to support the sustainability of studio operations. But like a stockroom in any institution or business, it is also an access point for encountering the thinking and valuing of things in the studio—the artifacts of repetition and materials that reveal the 14th Floor. It appears at art book fairs, open studio events, or other temporary public settings.
